EDM challenge No. 16. Draw a tool. You would think this would be easy for a Maintenance Fitter, surrounded by tools of every description all day!! The drawing part was relatively simple, it was the choosing that was difficult. It has taken me all week to settle on the angle grinder. Not too hard, not too easy...just right.! Drawn with graphite during the lunch break. Posted by Hello

I love the line quality and also the fact that you chose something unique to draw. When I get around to this one I know I won't find anything like this around my house.

Well, I never heard of this tool, so it was an educational field trip for me! Nice drawing Shelly. :)

That's interesting! Please add something about what the heck it does. :)

Nancy, It's a tool for removing/cutting metal! The round grinding wheel rotates at a very high speed. You gently press it against metal/stone and it grinds it away. This one has a cutting wheel in it that is very thin and when you press this against the metal, it cuts into it. Any tradies out there wanna have a go at explaining this better??

Shelly,
I love this tool! Thanks so much for saying you like my graphite drawings. I was feeling a bit ...well less experienced than others who are using photo shop and confident color. I'm taking a watercolor class at the end of the month and I hope to feel more confident in it. But I really love working in graphite.

Shelly,
I just read on another of your sites that you have only been drawing since November! Wow, do you ever have a strong visual sense. Found the part at the blog about link. Now to figure it out! Thanks.

Shelly, it is fun to see the different approaches you use in your sketches. This pencil one is perfect for the subject you've chosen here. Great job.

I don't think I've ever seen an angle grinder before. But because of your illustration, if I ever do I'll actually know what it is:-) Great challenge illustration!

I love this one too. Nice job. However I am not sure what this tool does.
