EDM Challenge #22 - Draw an article of clothing. I think this drawing should qualify. I drew it while sitting outside in my backyard. It is the clothesline (obviuosly) with clothes hanging on it. I drew this drawing using colour pencils. Posted by Picasa

Shelly this is a great sketch! How clever to think to draw the washing on the line. We see this scene almost everyday, but it is a great way to draw clothes and I must admit, I wouldn't have thought of it. You really captured the wind blowing through the drying clothes and created movement in your sketch. Well done!

Shelly -- I like this! I'll bet it was really fun to draw, too!

How translucent the clothes look - as if the sun is shining through them. Neat.

You really captured the feel of the float! and in colored pencils too. Nice!

Shelly your clothesline is super! I love how it looks in colored pencil. Looks like there is a slight breeze and the clothes all hang so nice --great job! I've never really explored colored pencil myself except for doing mandalas with prismacolor pencils. I just love the way yours looks!

This is lovely Shelly. I really enjoy the way you made the clothing look transparent in places, as if the sun were streaming through the layers of cloth. Bravo!

Hi Shelly

ditto what everybody's said, the transparency and folds of the material, the colors, the movement from the breeze, and add to that my love of the sleeves hanging down and the clothes pins sticking up and how those shapes play off each other so beautifully and the perfect bright yellow clothesline that is just. . . .perfect.
